What to Watch This Week!

What to Watch This Week!

From making ‘McMillions’ to racing with Matt Damon & Christian Bale, to an all-star cast with their knives out, this week we have the movies, shows, and series you should be watching and what you should avoid at all costs.

Watch: McMillions (HBO)

Mark Wahlberg is involved in producing another interesting project with HBO.  This limited series is a documentary series about how the McDonald’s Monopoly game was rigged, unveiling connections to the mob and absolutely crazy stories that have to be seen to believed.

They spent a lot of time re-enacting all of the stories from the 90’s and early 00’s when this scam went on and they do it very well.  If my wife can be entertained by a documentary, then you will be do.

I would recommend waiting until the entire series is out if you haven’t started this one yet, only because it’s episodic weekly and I really want to see how this all ends!

Verdict: Must Watch

This scam netted over $24 MILLION! Yes, that's right, and they would have gotten away with it all too if it hadn't been for...well, you'll have to watch to find out :-)

Watch: Knives Out

This star-studded cast had everyone from Chris Evans and Jamie Lee Curtis, to Daniel Craig and Don Johnson, just to name drop a few, and it was surprisingly NOT a flop.

Typically, movies like this reel us in with a huge cast and then don’t deliver, but this movie is basically a modern day version of the classic movie, “Clue,” which I was obsessed with as a kid.

This is a fun murder mystery that still manages to twist, turn, and surprise you with the big reveal at the end.

Verdict: Watch it!

Watch: Ford vs Ferrari

Matt Damon and Christian Bale do not disapoint, and the Oscar winning sound editing and mixing is well deserved in this high-speed racing movie.  Damon and Bale carry the movie but it is a great reflection back on a time in America when we had dreams and chased them, no matter the odds, and were all in this together.  Fonder times, I guess.

The Nostalgia and ‘romance’ for the muscle car era is potent but not over done and the ending was a surprise (so don’t google these real life characters if you don’t know!)

Verdict: Fun Watch
