The Fittest Cities in America: Where Do We Rank?

The 2020 American Fitness Index is out. It ranks the 100 largest cities on 33 different health metrics. Arlington, Virginia is the fittest city for a third year in a row, while Oklahoma City, Oklahoma is the least fit city for yet another year. Source: American Fitness Index

Where did Omaha and Lincoln land? Omaha is the 42nd fittest city in the country, which isn’t bad but it’s nothing compared to Lincoln who came in as the 19th fittest state!

Finally Lincoln is in the top 20 again!!!

No matter how hard people try to get in shape and stay healthy, it always seems like folks in some parts of the country are more successful at it than others. Well, a new report identifies which cities in the U.S. are doing their best at staying fit and which are failing.

  • The 2020 American Fitness Index, released by the American College of Sports Medicine, is out, ranking the 100 largest cities on 33 different health metrics.
  • Topping the list for a third year in a row is Arlington, Virginia, which earned a personal health score of 89.8%
