Chadwick Boseman donated part of his salary to co-star Sienna Miller on '21 Bridges'

Chadwick Boseman donated part of his salary to co-star Sienna Miller on '21 Bridges'

Jon Kopaloff/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- One month after his passing, stories of Chadwick Boseman's generous spirit continue to come to light.

Sienna Miller, who co-starred opposite the late actor in the 2019 action-thriller 21 Bridges, reveals in a new interview with Empire that Boseman donated part of his salary to her.

“I didn't know whether or not to tell this story, and I haven't yet. But I am going to tell it because I think it's a testament to who he was,” Miller begins.

“This was a pretty big-budget film, and I know that everybody understands about the pay disparity in Hollywood, but I asked for a number that the studio wouldn't get to,” Miller explains. “And because I was hesitant to go back to work and my daughter was starting school and it was an inconvenient time, I said, ‘I’ll do it if I'm compensated in the right way.’”

“And Chadwick ended up donating some of his salary to get me to the number that I had asked for. He said that that was what I deserved to be paid,” says Miller, who calls the gesture “the most astounding thing” she’d ever experienced during her Hollywood career.

“It's just unfathomable to imagine another man in that town behaving that graciously or respectfully,” she says.

Boseman passed away on August 28 at age 43 after a private battle with colon cancer.

The Rock welcomes Aldis Hodge to the 'Black Adam' cast; shares Hodge's surprised reaction

Charles Sykes/Bravo/NBCU Photo Bank via Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- Aldis Hodge has officially landed the high-flying role of Hawkman in the the forthcoming DC Comics film Black Adam.

In an Instagram post over the weekend, the film's star, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, welcomed Hodge to the Black Adam family.

"Hawkman is a critical leading role for our movie, as he is the fiery leader of the JSA (Justice Society of America) and one of the most beloved and legendary characters in the DC UNIVERSE," The Rock wrote in the post. "I called Aldis personally as I wanted to surprise him that he got the role and it wound up being one of the greatest conversations I’ve ever had."

According to The Rock, Aldis was in disbelief that he was actually getting a call from Dwayne Johnson himself.

"Whoever this is stop playing on my phone," The Rock wrote, sharing Aldis' response to his call.

"Aldis, this is DJ. I just called to say thank you so much for sending in your audition - it was great and I really appreciate the efforts you made," the Rock continued, sharing more of their conversation. "Just wanted to say thanks and best of luck in all you do. And one more thing -- welcome to Black Adam."

At that point, The Rock says Aldis had the "longest pause" and told him to "hold on" as he walked away to celebrate.

After asking him if he was "okay," Johnson told Hodge that he was "gonna crush [his] role, and the two proceeded to have "an awesome conversation full of gratitude, love and motivation."

Hodge later responded to the news in his own Instagram post, adding "
So the cat’s out of the bag. @therock, it’s going to be an honor to join you."

Jamie Chung says 'Big Hero 6 The Series' shows kids

Jamie Chung says 'Big Hero 6 The Series' shows kids "you don't need powers to be a superhero"

Disney XD(NEW YORK) -- Big Hero 6 The Series is back on Disney XD.

Season three of the Emmy-nominated animated series continues the adventures of 14-year-old Hiro, his lovable robot Baymax and their tech-savvy friends Wasabi, Go Go, Honey Lemon and Fred as they protect their city from new villains.

Jamie Chung, who’s been voicing thrill-seeking mechanical engineer Go Go Tomago since the 2017 film, tells ABC Audio she’s loved seeing the journey of her character throughout the series.

“She has her walls up and she's a woman of very few words, and usually it's the word ‘nope,’” Chung says. “So it's fun to see her warm up and open up and...you really get to see into her very private life.”

While the series has elements of superhero action, it also shows kids the power of science and tech.

“I feel the great messaging about this show and the previous movie is that you don't need to have supernatural powers to be a superhero,” Chung says. “You know, you just have to really focus and study and put your brain to anything and you can accomplish anything, which is the beauty of this show where the superheroes use science to save the world.”

Chrissy Teigen reveals she was hospitalized for pregnancy complication

Chrissy Teigen reveals she was hospitalized for pregnancy complication

David Livingston/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- Chrissy Teigen suffered a scary pregnancy complication over the weekend.

On Sunday, the model revealed on her Instagram Stories that she was hospitalized for excessive bleeding.

Teigen, who’s about halfway through her third pregnancy, has been on weeks of mandatory bed rest and said her bleeding issues have been going on for a "little less than a month” due to a weak placenta.

"Basically he's the strongest, coolest dude in the sh***iest house. His house is just falling apart," she said of her baby boy. "It didn't have a good foundation to begin with, though. He didn't have the strongest chance at the very, very beginning."

"It's just hard because there's not much you can do," she added. "I'm in that weird in-between time of it being really dangerous to try anything."

"Basically if I can make it through the next few weeks, if little boy can make it through the next few weeks, then, you know, we can go from there and be able to kind of get through the danger zone or whatever,” Teigen said. “But we have to get through this first. So yeah, it is scary. But it's scary in the way that there's just really nothing to do."

Teigen's husband, John Legend, was staying in the hospital room with her and she later documented him making her sandwich.

The two share four-year-old daughter Luna and two-year-old son Miles.

Here's why Evan Rachel Wood is no longer on Twitter

Here's why Evan Rachel Wood is no longer on Twitter

Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic for HBO(LOS ANGELES) -- Kajillionaire actress Evan Rachel Wood says there's no shame in cutting ties with the things that make you miserable, even if it's Twitter.

The actress announced that she has ended her relationship with the website, telling Variety that she deleted the app off her phone for good.

While Twitter gave her the opportunity to connect with fans, the 33-year-old Emmy nominee admitted she was tired of her innocuous opinions expressed on the website accidentally becoming front page news.

"And it would be, like, 'Evan Rachel Wood goes on a rant!' or 'Evan Rachel Wood attacks this person,'" she expressed.

After finding out the price of freely expressing her opinions, the Westworld star decided to pull the trigger and purge the app from the phone.

"Honestly, I think it’s one of the  best decisions I ever made," she laughed. "Really."

So, how long has it been since Wood quit using Twitter?  She told Variety that she's pulled the plug a few months ago and hasn't looked back.

The actress also spilled some secrets regarding her upcoming season on Westworld, confirming that her character Dolores did die in the most recent series finale.

However, that doesn't mean she's been written out of the HBO show.  In fact, she might be coming back as a whole new character... or so she thinks.

Despite the uncertainty, Wood says she's happy to return to her show, but admits it was hard saying goodbye to Dolores.

"I’ve been on such a journey with her. And it’s influenced my own life, and changed me as a person," she noted.

As for when Westworld resumes production, Wood admits she doesn't have a clue, adding, "I’m assuming by the time we go back, everything should be... functional?"

Kevork Djansezian/NBC/NBCU Photo Bank via Getty Images(LONDON) -- Brace yourselves, a Game of Thrones baby is coming.  Show alums Kit Harington and Rose Leslie are expecting their first child together.

Leslie, who played Harington's love interest Ygritte in the HBO series, confirmed her pregnancy when posing for the cover shot for the British publication Make Magazine.

The magazine's fashion editor Ursula Lake broke the news before the article hit the stands, writing to Instagram on Saturday, "A very special all woman team photographic shoot capturing Rose at this wonderful time as she prepares for motherhood for the first time!"

Lake posted a black and white photo of the Scottish actress, who is wearing an elegant black and beaded gown, standing to the side and happily showing off her pregnancy.

As for whether or not fans will hear from Harington or Rose themselves regarding their little one, neither actor maintains a social media presence and are famous for keeping their relationship out of the limelight.

The two met in 2011 when filming the second season of Game of Thrones and were romantically linked a year later.  Harington and Rose -- both 33 -- made their red carpet debut as a couple in 2016 and tied the knot on June 23, 2018.

Report: Rooney Mara and Joaquin Phoenix name their newborn son River

Tullio M. Puglia/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara have reportedly welcomed a baby boy and they could not have chosen a more perfect name.

Gunda director Victor Kossakovsky spilled the beans at the 2020 Zurich Film Festival, where he spoke to reporters following the screening of his new movie.  Phoenix served as executive producer of the black and white film, which wordlessly follows a piglet growing up on a farm.

"He just [had a] baby," Kossakovsky announced when noting the actor's absence, softly adding that his "beautiful son" was named River.

River shares the name of his late-uncle, River Phoenix, who tragically died in 1993 following an accidental drug overdose.  The Stand By Me actor was 23.

Joaquin, who was extremely close with his older sibling, was 19 when his brother passed.

The Joker actor is now ensuring his brother's name lives on by passing it onto his newborn son.  Phoenix, 45, and Mara, 35, first sparked pregnancy rumors back in May after paparazzi snapped photos of what appeared to be a baby bump, but the two never confirmed the reports.

The notoriously private couple, who started dating in 2016, became engaged last year.  They have yet to respond to reports that they welcomed a child.

The video of Kossakovsky's announcement was posted to Instagram on Sunday by blogger Daphne Chaimovitz, who was in attendance of the Q&A session.

Frankie Muniz and wife Paige Price announce they have a "little miracle" on the way

Jerritt Clark/WireImage(LOS ANGELES) -- Congratulations are in order for Frankie Muniz and wife Paige Price, who announced that they are expecting their first child.

The couple made the sweet announcement on their joint YouTube page on Saturday, writing in the caption, "We were shocked and thrilled to hear the news that we're going to be parents."

The two were exploring Yellowstone National Park when they opted to record their special video announcement, which shows the two grinning ear to ear as they dance around happily and celebrate the arrival of their "real life miracle."

"The second I heard that heartbeat, reality set in. I was throwing out baby names and future career choices," narrates Muniz, panning to a clip of him happily cradling his wife's stomach.

As it turns out, the two didn't even know that they'd ever welcome a child together, as Price revealed that she was told she might never get pregnant.

"We knew that we wanted this but we were told that our chances weren't that great," the actress admitted, furthering that "the struggle of going to every doctor's appointment made me feel less and less of a woman."

But, as she happily gushed, they "beat the odds" and are now "15 weeks along and counting!"

The baby is due next March.

Muniz, 34, and Price, 28, announced their engagement in November 2018 and tied the knot in February of this year.

Dwayne Johnson breaks his silence on politics, announces he's voting for Joe Biden

Dwayne Johnson breaks his silence on politics, announces he's voting for Joe Biden

Art Streiber/NBCU Photo Bank/NBCUniversal via Getty Images via Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- Fans of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson finally know who he's voting for.  The Hobbs & Shaw actor broke his longstanding silence on politics Sunday to formally endorse former Vice President Joe Biden and running mate Kamala Harris.

"I've never publicly endorsed a presidential candidate or vice presidential candidate in my life, over my career," the 48-year-old actor announced in a socially distanced YouTube video featuring Biden and Harris. "You guys are both obviously experienced to lead. You've done great things."

Johnson not only expressed his confidence in the duo's qualifications, but also noted that their "soul" is what earned his respect.

Referencing his late father Rocky "Soul Man" Johnson, the actor expressed, "My dad always said, 'Respect is given when it is earned.'"

Johnson then posed the question to Harris and Biden about what they'll do to ensure they earn the same respect from the American people.

"By doing what we say we're going to do. By keeping our word. By leveling with the American people. By taking responsibility. When we fail, acknowledge it," answered the former Vice President before extending that promise to his administration, saying it will be "representative of all of America."

Harris noted the importance of running an honest administration, telling Johnson, "One of the foundations of trust is truth" even when it's "difficult to hear."

"People are grieving the loss of life, the loss of jobs, the loss of certainty, the loss of normalcy and to heal and get through this.  We're gonna have to be honest about what healing will require," added Harris.

Johnson gave Harris his honest opinion of her, calling the senator "smart and tough" and that, "In my opinion you are a certified bada**."

The first presidential debate is fast approaching, taking place in Cleveland on Tuesday.

Gwyneth Paltrow celebrates birthday in her "birthday suit"

Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic(LOS ANGELES) -- Gwyneth Paltrow turned 48 and what did she do? Dropped a naked selfie on Instagram.

On Sunday, the Academy Award-winning actress shared a photo of herself in the buff, covering her chest, and with her right leg raised and wrote, "In nothing but my birthday suit today... thank you all so much for the birthday wishes and thank you to @goop ‘s insanely amazing brand new body butter for making me think I can still get my kit off."

Many other celebrities flooded the comments with birthday wishes and complimented the mother of two, however, not everyone was as supportive of post.

Paltrow's daughter, Apple Martin, 16, seemed a bit embarrassed by the nude pic and commented in all caps, "MOM." The Goop founder replied with crying laughing emojis.

In addition to Apple, Paltrow has 14-year-old son Moses with her ex-husband Chris Martin. She is now married to Glee co-creator Brad Falchuk.

Rainn Wilson powered through shooting 'Blackbird' while his home was threatened by wildfires

Rainn Wilson powered through shooting 'Blackbird' while his home was threatened by wildfires

Tommaso Boddi/FilmMagic(LOS ANGELES) -- Rainn Wilson revealed how well he can act under pressure.  While filming his new drama Blackbird last year, wildfires were closing in on his home in California, but he refused to let interfere with his acting.

Wilson recounted to ABC Audio what was going through his mind as the flames advanced toward his house.

"As we were shooting, I was 80% certain that my house was burning down in California," the actor admitted.  "I was literally getting updates on my phone, where I could see the fire going down my street!"

Despite Wilson's growing anxiety while watching the fire close in on his home, he buckled down and smiled his way through filming a particularly hilarious scene with Kate Winslet.

"We had to shoot the scene, we were losing light," the Emmy nominee detailed. "I couldn’t be like, 'Guys. Can we not shoot the scene my house might be burning down?' It was like 'OK here we go!'”

Thankfully, his home was spared.

Blackbird follows a woman -- played by Susan Sarandon -- who has opted to end her life and hosts one final family reunion to say her goodbyes.

Wilson says the film is a must watch, describing, "There’s a lot of laughter to be had so I feel like it’s a necessary film to kind of just really experience the human condition."

Director Roger Michelle told ABC Audio that the movie explores how humans instinctively fall back on humor even in the darkest of times, adding, "In these situations, people reach for their laughter and their humanity."

He hearkened to a particular scene involving Sarandon, revealing, "When she is on her death bed, she makes a joke! She says 'Don’t let me die with my mouth open!'"

Blackbird is available to watch in theaters and digitally rent on Amazon Prime.

Noah Hawley details how COVID-19 gave 'Fargo' some breathing room

Noah Hawley details how COVID-19 gave 'Fargo' some breathing room

Matthias Clamer/FX (LOS ANGELES) -- Season 4 of Fargo premieres Sunday night on FX and it’s been a while since we last saw new episodes of the critically acclaimed series considering that season 3 premiered in 2017. Although that was partially due to the pandemic, series creator Noah Hawley tells ABC Audio the extra time gave him some breathing room not typical for the usually speedy way in which television is made.

"It was good to have a few months to live with the material, to watch the cuts, to take a break from the cuts, to go back and go, oh yeah, this one feels long to me now and you know, to be able to calibrate more," he explained. "Hopefully we really are telling the best story we can tell."

This season, which looks at America's relationship to money and focuses on two vastly different families -- one Italian and the other Black, which is led by Chris Rock. And although Hawley is white, he expressed it was very important to him that the characters depicted on screen had representation in the creation of the stories.

"In the writers that we hired and the directors that we hired, you know, we we really made sure that that, you know, this wasn't going to be an act of appropriation," he shared, adding that the comedian was the "perfect partner."

"... you know, nothing's sacred to Chris. He's not a P.C. guy. So we could have a very honest conversation and really have a back and forth," he says.

In addition to seeing Rock take the lead, viewers will notice the series takes a jump from the upper North West of the United States to Kansas City, and the reason for that is simple.

"To avoid repetition on some level," Hawley admitted.

Dax Shepard reveals relapse after 16 years of sobriety during emotional podcast episode

Dax Shepard reveals relapse after 16 years of sobriety during emotional podcast episode

Walt Disney Television/Yolanda Perez(LOS ANGELES) -- Dax Shepard has seldom been silent about his battles with addiction.  Now the actor and director has revealed a recent relapse in an extremely personal episode of his podcast, Armchair Expert, released Friday.

The father of two said he'd been taking prescription pain meds for years, with the knowledge of family and sponsors, to deal with pain issues from injuries.  But things became problematic due to problems with his hand and shoulder that began around six months ago, and he began lying about his increasing dependence and dosage.

He admitted he was lying to people in his life while taking excessive amounts of pain medicine he'd been prescribed, buying pills and carrying around this "enormous secret."

Shepard, 45, said he recently revealed what was going on to his wife, actress Kristen Bell, and to his podcast producer, Monica Padman.

In the episode, recorded Monday, Sept. 21, he announced he was seven days sober.

The actor explained that he went to several AA meetings following his confession to those closest to him.  On Sept. 1, the day Shepard and his family celebrated his 16th year sober, he said he went to a meeting and received so much "kindness" and "unconditional love" from his peers.

He said he was honest about his addiction and opened up further about his struggles.  "It was very emotional," he said about the meeting. "It was a really surreal kind of experience."

Shepard's admission on his podcast was met with hundreds of supportive comments across social media, praising him for his honesty.

In a post on Instagram, the actor described "Day 7" as, "An episode I hoped I'd never have to record, but one I felt I owed to all the beautiful Armcheries who have been on this ride with me for the last couple years."

Gugu Mbatha-Raw explains how she worked

Gugu Mbatha-Raw explains how she worked "to honor" Jennifer Hosten in 'Misbehaviour'

Shout! Studios(NEW YORK) -- Gugu Mbatha-Raw says she hoped "to honor" Jennifer Hosten in the new British comedy, Misbehaviour.

In the film, which follows the newly formed woman's liberation movement and their disruption of the Miss World competition broadcast in 1970, Mbatha-Raw plays Hosten, the Miss Grenada contestant. Mbatha-Raw tells ABC Audio that she went to great lengths to get the portrayal right.

"It's always a responsibility playing a real person, especially when they're still around to have an opinion of what you are doing," she says. "And of course, you want to honor them. And I was really fortunate enough to actually meet Jennifer in person while I was doing the research."

Mbatha-Raw says she then asked Hosten to meet her in Grenada to get a better feel of her origins.

"I just thought it would be a wonderful opportunity to meet her in her home environment," she explains. "In her mother island, and really have a relaxed way to understand her culture and spend some quality time with her."

"So it was a wonderful experience because she showed me around the island, she told me lots of stories," Mbatha-Raw continues. "[I]t was very enriching to develop a relationship with her and also to observe her. I listened to her accent and to understand her energy, and really have all of that to draw upon."

While being in Grenada was a big help to fine-tune her portrayal, Mbatha-Raw says she ultimately sought some professional assistance when it came to perfecting Hosten's "really specific accent."

"It was nerve wracking," Mbatha-Raw says. "Her accent is sort of a fusion in itself. So, I worked with an amazing dialect coach [who] helped me hone the rhythms and figure out what would work for the film."

Misbehaviour's now available on VOD.
